The Stratford Shakespeare Club

The oldest Shakespeare society in existence reached 200 in April 2024

Full information about the April bicentenary is on the News page. Celebrations continue during the year, with a new website expected to be launched at the end of the year, and the establishment of an educational bursary designed to assist students coming to work in Stratford. These initiatives aim to raise the profile of the Club locally and internationally and to enable it to promote the study and appreciation of Shakespeare while remaining independent.

The Club is delighted that Sir Gregory Doran, the distingushed Theatre Director and former Artistic Director of the RSC has agreed to be President of the Club 2024-5.Meetings are held at the Methodist Hall in Stratford-upon-Avon on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30 pm from October to May. Everybody is welcome.
